WELCOME TO BIG BLUE I

Our flagship facility, Big Blue I, is located in Swindon and is the world's first industrial-sized, carbon-neutral laundry and wet cleaning facility. Covering an area of 20,000 square feet, it is fully powered and heated by renewable energy and biogas. PIONEERING THROUGH INNOVATION

We spearhead innovation in the laundry industry, utilising cutting-edge technology to transform the sector.

With no pre-existing blueprint for our solution, we meticulously crafted the necessary systems and technology from the ground up, propelling the industry forward. Our technology ranks among the world's most advanced, while our end-to-end laundry service platform stands at the forefront.

During our facility's launch phase, we concentrate on implementing our "exception flow process," closely mirroring the successful procedures and machinery employed in our established facilities. This phase forms a vital cornerstone for the subsequent stages of our operations.

ADVANCED LAUNDRY SOLUTIONS

This significant upgrade allows us to clean garments on a scale that surpasses anything we could have imagined in the past.

With our strengthened linen processing system, we have harnessed cutting-edge technology to streamline and optimise the laundry process. This advanced automated flow system eliminates the need for manual intervention at various stages, reducing human error and enhancing efficiency.

Our upcoming tunnel finishing technology provides us with a remarkable advantage in achieving the highest presentation standards. This innovative system utilises a combination of steam, heat, and specialised machinery to remove wrinkles, improve fabric texture, and create a professional finish, extending textile longevity. The tunnel finishing process ensures that linens and garments leave our facility in pristine condition, ready for immediate use.

THE FUTURE OF LAUNDRY

The integration of these advanced technologies into our operations marks a significant milestone for Oxwash.

Not only are we enhancing our capacity to handle larger volumes of linens and garments, but we also elevate the overall quality of our cleaning services through improved convenience, speed, and precision.

The competencies, technologies and patents that we have acquired through our journey of innovation and self-disruption can be applied to solve many complex problems in the laundry sector and beyond.

Our pioneering spirit, best practices and unrivalled commitment to technological innovation allow us to set the standard for sustainable and profitable laundry services.

EN 14065 ACCREDITATION

Being the first carbon-neutral laundry facility to have EN 14065 accreditation reinforces our position as an industry leader, setting a benchmark for others to follow.

It underscores our ability to align with Healthcare Technical Memorandum 01-04 (HTM-01-04), showcasing our capacity to meet and exceed the rigorous standards demanded by healthcare facilities. EN 14065 accreditation serves as more than just a symbol—it's a cornerstone of our dedication to excellence. This achievement is not just a milestone for us but a triumph for sustainable laundry practices as a whole.

LOW-IMPACT LOGISTICS

We take pride in our commitment to environmentally conscious practices, and our logistics reflect that dedication.

Unlike traditional laundry services, our operations boast a low environmental impact, thanks to our innovative use of electronic bikes and vans. By harnessing the efficiency of electric vehicles, we significantly reduce our carbon footprint, contributing to a cleaner future. These sustainable modes of transportation exemplify our ethos and ensure that every step of our laundry process aligns with our mission to provide high-quality service while minimising our impact on the planet.

Our Network

Big Blue I is supported by smaller, inner-city lagoons and hubs in Oxford and London. Combined, they provide us with an incredibly powerful network that demonstrates what the industry can achieve at scale. Our lagoons have already proved the concept that it is possible to achieve a more sustainable future for the commercial industry and Big Blue I is the next step to achieving this at a grand scale.

COMPANIES USING OXWASH

"Oxwash’s unwavering commitment to delivering both clinical-grade disinfection and sustainability aligns seamlessly with our mission, offering us invaluable reassurance."

NDORMS (Haidar, Deputy Buildings and Facilities Manager)

“Oxwash's localised customer service and the direct relationship we have with our account manager has made the process much more seamless and efficient. The laundry industry has been slow to evolve with the times but we believe Oxwash can be the catalyst for change.”

James Fry (Beyond Apartments, CEO & Founder)

“So far I can only say I am very happy, we have an abundance of uniform all week due to the quick turn over and twice a week collections. This hopefully means when we need to invest in new uniform we can order less. I am very impressed with the level of communication, I received some last year to let me know of delayed pick ups due to the weather (something I didn’t get from our previous company).”

Peterhouse College

“Oxwash's reliable and flexible service means that we are able to accommodate our guests’ laundry and dry-cleaning needs without having to worry about the quality of the service."

Courtyard by Marriott (Louise, Operations Manager)

"Every Hurr item has a unique cleaning and finishing process, so working alongside Hurr’s garment science team and Oxwash's tech teams, we've been able to re-engineer the cleaning process while ensuring every rented item arrives in perfect condition for our customers."

Victoria (Hurr, CEO)

"I would honestly say the shirts come back looking better than when we first bought them. The attention to detail is second to none, with difficult stains being removed and finishing to the absolute top standard. The staff are responsive and friendly, a real pleasure to work with. All this done in a sustainable way while continuing to innovate and be market leaders! Oxwash are the future of laundry and I’m excited to watch them grow."
